Name Giving ceremonies
This is a wonderful time for family and friends to gather and show their support and love and to welcome a new child into the world. Many people do not believe in traditional baptism but would like a ceremony that celebrates life and family uniting.
Funeral ceremonies
I remember reading a tribute to my father as his service in 2006 and looking at my two big older brothers and my mum in the front row, looking so sad, yet thankful that someone was able to stand up and speak on their behalf. It was at this moment that I realised how tough this day is for everyone and how wonderful it would be to be able to help others who were going through the same thing …
My work as a funeral celebrant is what I call my privileged work, it gives me purpose and fulfils the need to help others when they need it the most. I believe that we can find some inner comfort when we say farewell to our loved one in the way they would have wanted it – and although the pain never really leaves us, a unique service can help to provide some peace. I am also a strong believer in planning your own service; the toughest decisions can be already made leaving no doubt as to your wishes. Planning your service doesn’t invite a premature death, it just gives peace of mind to you and those closest to you.
